Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hosted a Christmas party at Paramount Studios for nearly 200 kids and their parents on Saturday. The families are the same families that are participating in Los Angeles County’s Beyond Shelter program, which helps them find housing stations.

Nicole explained, “We really wanted to give these kids a really wonderful and special Christmas. It’s our favorite holiday.”

During the day, the kids visited with Santa, watched some clowns and played with face paint. Nicole and Joel also handed out 500 teddy bears and 500 pairs of new shoes.
